MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Cecil Earl Bowman, 78, of Mount Airy, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born in Surry County on Jan. 15, 1935, to the late James Tyrie and Maggie Mae Felts Bowman. Mr. Bowman was well known in the tobacco circuit and highly respected by everyone. He was a very caring man to his family and friends. Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Brenda Butcher Bowman of the home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Rev. Rawley “Dink” Haynes, Jr. of Mount Airy and Kathy and Rev. Tom Hayes of Shelby; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil Earl Bowman, Jr. and Kathy of Mount Airy; and Ricky James Bowman and Jane of Lowgap; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Irene Collins, Betty Combs and Pansy and Arthur Chaney; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lyrine Bowman, Everette and Cindy Bowman and Dennis and Robbie Bowman. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay Bowman; a sister, Mary Etta Nichols; a brother, James Bowman. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rawley “Dink” Haynes, Jr. and Rev. Tom Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens.
