Mount Airy Mayor pro-tem Steve Yokeley reads a proclamation by Mayor Deborah Cochran naming Sept. 25 as Australia Friendship Day. The proclamation was read at Mount Airy Rotarian’s meeting at Cross Creek Country Club. The lunch meeting recognized the Rotary friendship exchange program between Mount Airy and Queensland, Australia.

These Mount Airy High School Interact Club officers were recognized in a pinning ceremony at the Mount Airy Rotary Club monthly meeting. Interact’s efforts at supporting organ donation awareness and Mayberry’s Butterfly Walk for Lupus. Students honored included Jordan Jackson, Elizabeth Dinkins, Morgan Greenwood, Jade Hughes, Garett Vanhoy, Aaron Lewis, Alex Mayo, Makayla Benfield, Anna Culler and Hayden Culler.
