To the Editor,
The liberal left has finally convinced many Americans that (a) ‘free’ healthcare is a right, (b) that property in America is no longer private, and therefore (c) more taxes can be squeezed from some rich guy to pay for most of it.
But the left neglects to say that, even after higher taxes on the wealthy, ‘free’ care will require additional taxes on the rest of us as well. In affluent Hollywood, hefty increases in sales and payroll taxes are contemplated for single payer healthcare. Raising taxes on the rich doesn’t have anything to do with envy, or does it?
