Whitney Jade Bledsoe of Mount Airy and Jacob Bradley Long of Mount Airy got married at 5 p.m. on June 7, 2014, at Dewberry Farm in Kernersville. Minister Jimmy Joyce officiated.


The bride’s parents are Steve and Diane Joyce of Pilot Mountain, and Todd Bledsoe of Ararat, North Carolina. Her grandparents are Ronnie and Sandra Bledsoe, and the late Jim and the late Shirley Lawson.


She graduated from North Surry High School in 2008, and earned an associate’s degree in computer information from Forsyth Tech in 2013. She currently is employed at the Mount Airy News.


The groom’s parents are John and Pat Largen of Mount Airy. His grandparents are Jimmy Ray Newman and Carolyn Watts, and Celatha and Porter Smith.


He graduated from North Surry in 2004. He earned a master’s degree from Liberty University in counseling in 2014. He works at Piedmont in Stuart, Virginia.


The bride was given in marriage by Todd Bledsoe, her father.


The bride wore a pleated crystal taffeta gown with silver beaded and embroidered appliqué accenting the bust and lower hip area. The zipper was accented with crystal taffeta buttons.


She also wore a single, elbow-length veil.


The bride’s bouquet consisted of a pink cymbidium orchids, hot pink peonies, pink calla lilies, and pink hydrangeas.


The matron of honor was Megan Haynes, friend of the bride, of Mount Airy.


She wore a navy chiffon dress with a sweetheart neckline and halter straps that tied at the neck.


The bridesmaids were Chelsey Jackson, cousin of the bride; Kayla Tate, cousin of the bride; Jocelyn Long, niece of the groom; Carly Jackson, cousin of the bride; Hannah Tate, cousin of the bride; and Mara Tilley, cousin of the bride.


The bridesmaids wore navy chiffon strapless short dresses with a soft sweetheart neckline.


Their flowers were the same as the bride’s, minus the orchids.


The best man was Steve Joyce, stepfather of the bride.


The groom wore a pink orchid.


The groomsmen were Tyler Stevens, friend of the groom; Corbin Bedsaul, brother of the bride; Jake Lowe, friend of the groom; Grason Joyce, friend of the groom; Chris Charter, friend of the groom; and Adam Lawrence, friend of the groom.


The groomsmen wore pink, mini calla lilies.


The reception followed the wedding ceremony at Dewberry Farm.


The couple took their wedding trip to Runaway Bay, Jamaica.


The rehearsal dinner was hosted by John and Pat Largen at Outwest in Kernersville.
