The Dobson Hornets won the Foothills Fast-Pitch Softball Championship for the 10-and-under age group.

The Hornets were undefeated during the regular season to earn the top seed in the tournament last week at Franklin Elementary.

Three wins put the Hornets into the final on Saturday against the Dobson Diamonds.

The Diamonds had lost once to the Franklin Thunder in the double-elimination tournament and would have to win two games against the Hornets, who just needed one win to knock the Diamonds out.

The Diamonds won the first game, but the Hornets responded in the second game for a 7-5 clincher.

The Hornets consisted of Yadira Branch, Emma Bullin, Carlee Jones, Taylor Newman, Erin Nichols, Tiffany Payne, Kaley Poindexter, Charity Rosenhauer, Natalyna Torres, Allie Wood and Alyssa Woods.

The team was coached by Travis Bullin and assistants Joel Jones and Hope Bullin.
