Nine local teams are in action over the next two days in the state playoffs.
Baseball, softball and soccer all kick off, beginning with baseball at East Surry.
The Cardinals are hosting Bishop McGuinness in baseball today at 7 p.m. Everything else starts on Wednesday.
The Cards are hosting softball Wednesday at 6 p.m. against East Montgomery.
East also will host a soccer game, but the match with North Stanly has been moved to 6 p.m. at Surry Central as the Cards make improvements to their field and stadium.
Central’s field is open because the Lady Eagles must travel to East Davidson.
The Eagles’ baseball team goes to Mount Pleasant Wednesday. Both soccer and baseball are set for 6 p.m.
North Surry hosts softball Wednesday at 7 p.m. against conference foe West Stokes.
Mount Airy has three events Wednesday, all starting at 6 p.m.
Soccer is at home against North Stokes. Baseball travels to West Montgomery and softball goes to North Stokes.
Because of concerns about possible showers on Wednesday, some schools have moved events up a day.
Elkin has decided to move soccer, baseball and softball to this evening.
The Elks will host South Stanly in both baseball and softball. The girls play at 6 p.m. and the guys at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the soccer team hosts Thomas Jefferson Academy at 6 p.m.
