The Western Piedmont Conference baseball game between Surry Central and North Surry has been postponed because of rain. The teams will play today beginning with the JV game at 1 p.m. at Surry Central High School.

The Eagles have won two straight and four of their last five games. Central will be at home after three consecutive games on the road. Central lost to South Stokes 9-7, then beat Elkin 12-11 and Forbush 6-1.

Against Elkin, Jake Wilmoth was 4 of 5 at the plate with a home run and three RBIs. Forest Kimbrell was 3 of 5 with a double. Cole Fowler was 2 of 4 with a triple and a double. Cole Leonard got the pitching win in relief.

In the victory over Forbush, Fowler earned the win on the hill. He also was 3 of 4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs.

After a blowout win over Carver, the Greyhounds (8-10) lost a 3-2 nonconference game at Ashe County on Wednesday night.

The first time Central and North played this season, sophomore Brady Watts sparkled on the mound and Nick Wilson hit a two-run shot as the Greyhounds posted a 2-1 win.

As of Friday afternoon, West Stokes led the WPC standings at 6-0, with Central in second place at 4-2, followed by South Stokes (3-3) and North Surry (3-4). Forbush sat at 2-4 and Carver was 0-5.
