The Granite Bears picked up two tennis wins on Thursday, sweeping a doubleheader with Atkins.
Mount Airy played eight-game pro sets in both matches.
In the first go, the Bears took every game for a perfect 72-0 score.
That improved the team to 7-1 on the season, 5-0 in the Northwest Conference.
The second win bumped that up to 8-1 and 6-0.
In the first matches, Mitch Kessler swept Dillon Jennings. Justin Leonard beat Alex Varsik. Jack Marion won over Jared Solomon.
Will Sparks beat Jonathan Grubbs. Hunt Harrison beat Ryan Pask. Gentry Williamson beat Jarvis Garcia.
Kessler and Blake Hensley swept Jennings/Varsik. Leonard and Sam Brown beat Solomon/Grubbs. Sparks and Harrison beat Ryan Holmes and Eric Grady.
In the rematch, the top five seeds played the same opponents.
Leonard won 8-1, while the others won 8-0.
In the one spot with a different lineup, Williamson beat Thomas Moretz 8-0 in the sixth-seed match.
In doubles, Kessler and Hensley swept Varsik/Grubbs. Leonard and Brown swept Solomon/Pask. Sparks and Harrison beat Thomas Moretz and Jarvis Moretz.
With the one game given up in Leonard’s match, the Bears won the second half of the doubleheader 72-1.
The Bears travel to East Wilkes today to make up a match postponed from Tuesday.
