PILOT MOUNTAIN — The Blue Ridge Panthers defeated the Surry Runnin’ Patriots girls basketball team 45-39 in the Patriots’ fourth game of the season.

Sydney Bedsaul led the Patriots with 16 points, and Panther Olivia Pratt was the game high scorer recording 26 points.

Surry Runnin’ Patriots Head Coach Todd Hill said the Pats did not shoot the ball well and registered only 24 percent from the floor. They were also less than 10 percent from the three-point line against the Panthers, said Hill.

Bedsaul fouled out early in the fourth-quarter. Hill said there would be times like these, but said the team must pick-up on defense.

The Surry Runnin’ Patriots’ record is 1-3, but conference games will not begin until January.
