The first round of state football playoffs are scheduled to begin Nov. 15 with pairings that were seeded on Saturday; the highest seeds will host opponents on Friday at 7:30 p.m.


From the local 2A Piedmont Athletic Conference: No. 7 seed West Stokes (8-3) will meet East Davidson (9-2), the No. 10 seed (2AA); Forbush (6-5), No. 11 seed, will play No. 6 Maiden (10-1) (2AA); No. 1 Carver (10-1) will meet Lake Norman Charter (5-6), No. 16 seed (2A); and Surry Central (5-6), No. 2, will play No. 15 North Rowan (11-0) (2A).


From the local Northwest 1A conference: North Stanly (8-3), No. 4 seed, will No. 5 play Bishop McGuinness (7-4) (1AA); No. 3 East Surry (9-2) plays Walkertown (8-3) ,No. 6 seed (1AA); Mount Airy (8-3), the second seed, will play East Montgomery (6-5), No. 7 seed (1AA); and No. 3 South Robeson (6-5) will play Atkins, No. 6 seed (2-8) (1A).


The second round of playoffs are scheduled on Nov. 22, and the third are Nov. 29.


The Regional round of playoffs are scheduled on Dec. 6 and State Championships are scheduled Dec. 13-14.
