The East Surry girls tennis team swept its match against Atkins in a 9-0 finish on the road on Thursday.

The singles scores and doubles scores were: Tiffany King beat Makenna Mason, 6-0, 6-1; Haley Manuel beat Asia Davis, 6-2, 6-2; Brooke Tickle beat Nikki Blackburn, 6-0, 6-3; Allie Hawks beat Ashley Hill, 6-0, 6-0; Mikayla Manuel beat Devika Ghosh, 6-1, 6-1.

At #6 singles, the match was forfeited by Atkins because they only had five players.

In doubles Tiffany King/Haley Manuel beat Makenna Mason/Nikki Blackburn, 8-0 and Sarah Gibson/Mikayla Manuel beat Asia Davis/Ashley Hill, 8-0.

Head Coach David Kidd said, “Atkins seems to have really improved since the first time we played them. My girls really stepped up and played well after two tough losses last week. I think my girls are ready to finish the season strong next week.”

The Cards are scheduled to play South Stokes on Monday.
