• A case of property damage involving a truck was reported last Wednesday at Mayberry Mall, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. An unknown suspect or suspects used some type of item to cause $1,500 in damage to the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup of Jacob Bradley Hooker, a resident of Johnson Road.


• A larceny was discovered Wednesday at an unidentified restaurant located at 502 N. Andy Griffith Parkway, where someone cut wires from an icebox, snowplow and trailer, resulting in a wiring harness loss totaling $500. Hunter Parks is listed as the victim of the crime.


• Police were told on Aug. 25 that a break-in and larceny had occurred at the residence of Terry Nathan Danley in the 2000 block of Wards Gap Road, involving an orange Stihl chainsaw, a backpack leafblower and a Robin weedeater which had been in an outbuilding. Entry to that structure was gained through a hole, with no loss figure given.
