The Surry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the following incident reports:
• On August 24, Jean Cook Taylor, 80, of Pine Ridge Road in Mount Airy, reported that someone entered her car port and stole a pressure washer and a leaf blower. The items were valued at $300, according to police reports.
• On August 23, Scott Junior Tate, 37, of Oak Street in Lowgap, reported a potential arson as a result of his Nissan Sentra catching fire while sitting in his driveway. The vehicle was valued at $1,800.
• On August 23, Chuck Bradley Puckett, 47, of Golden Leaf Lane in Mount Airy, reported that someone stole two batteries from farm equipment on his property. The batteries were valued at $475, according to police.
• On August 22, employees at the Friendship Speedway in Elkin reported that someone cut open a gate on their property and stole a 2005 Arctic Cat ATV. The ATV was valued at $5,000.
