• A Mount Airy woman has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to city police department reports. Jennifer Ann Lieberman, 29, of 319 Jefferies St., was arrested late Wednesday after the execution of a search warrant at her residence. Lieberman was held in the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on April 23.

• Ricky Mitchell Sheets, 28, of 194 W. Greenhill Road, was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods Thursday at Walmart, involving a fishing rod and several lures, valued at $87. Sheets allegedly concealed the merchandise while inside the store, and was located by police as he entered a vehicle. He admitted to taking the property, which was returned to Walmart. Jena Dellena Caudle, 32, of 130 W. Lebanon St., also was cited for larceny and possession of stolen goods in the case. A May 5 court date was set for Sheets and Caudle.

• Steel Reserve alcoholic beverages were stolen at Walmart Thursday by an unknown party who took them from the store without paying.

• Brandon Klyne Shoemaker, 17, of 332 E. Independence Blvd., was cited Thursday for second-degree trespassing and engaging in a hazardous activity in violation of a city ordinance. Shoemaker was observed using the city skateboard board on Riverside Drive without a helmet or pads, after having been warned not to do so by another officer in March 2012. He is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on June 4.

• Police were told Wednesday that an unknown suspect had fraudulently deposited money into an account at Bank of America on Independence Boulevard via online banking. Both the bank and Yvonne Lynell Hudson of Snowhill Drive, Dobson, are listed as victims.

• Larry Vivian Melton, 71, of 1250 Vaden Lane, Westfield, was charged Tuesday with driving while impaired after police investigated a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of the ProHealth fitness center. Melton is free on a written promise to appear in Surry District Court on May 27.

• Property damage was discovered Tuesday, involving four windows of a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban being broken using an unknown object, causing $1,200 in damage. The incident occurred at the home of the vehicle’s owner, Kathryn Amanda Kinder, on West Church Street.

• Trey Kirkman Shuping, 27, of 327 Cherry St., No. 2, was served Tuesday with an outstanding criminal summons on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, which had been issued on April 2 with Larry Anderson Westmoreland of Maple Grove Church Road as the complainant. Shuping’s court date is May 2.
