NORTH WILKESBORO — Sales totaled 342 head, including cattle (341) and hogs (1), during Wednesday’s sales at Wilkes Livestock Exchange.


Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:


• Cow/calf pairs by the head: $850-$1,725.


• Cows by the head: $900-$1,325.


• Cows: 700-795 pounds, $78.50; 800-895 pounds, $29.50-$63; 900-995 pounds, $72-$92; 1,000-1,095 pounds, $56.50-$86; 1,100-1,195 pounds, $63-$89; 1,200-1,295 pounds, $58.50-$88.50; 1,300-1,395 pounds, $76.50-$86; 1,400-1,495 pounds, $76.50-$85.50; 1,500-1,595 pounds, $79-$88.


• Steers: 200-295 pounds, $112.50; 300-395 pounds, $96-$150; 400-495 pounds, $53-$153; 500-595 pounds, $102-$154; 600-695 pounds, $60-$154; 700-795 pounds, $80-$133; 900-995 pounds, $77.50.


• Heifers: 100-195 pounds, $175; 300-395 pounds, $68-$159; 400-495 pounds, $68-$150; 500-595 pounds, $80-$139; 600-695 pounds, $110-$120; 700-795 pounds, $80-$110; 800-895 pounds, $101.
