DOBSON — A 20-year-old county man has been charged with indecent exposure after authorities say he exposed himself to a Dobson business owner.
According to Dobson Police Chief Shawn Myers, the incident occurred on Aug. 21, when Officer James Harrison was dispatched to Hair Unlimited, located on East Atkins Street.
“Beverly Peele, the owner of Hair Unlimited, reported that a male subject came into the hair salon and was asking questions about the rates of the tanning sessions,” Myers said.
Peele told police that the suspect, later identified as Lira Eduardo, of 339 Rockford Road in Dobson, asked for a pamphlet with the prices listed.
“She turned around and picked up the pamphlet to give it to (Eduardo), and at that point noticed that the male subject had his private part exposed to her while standing inside her hair salon,” Myers said.
After being seen, the suspect ran outside the salon and around the building, according to police.
Myers said Peele was able to describe both the suspect and the vehicle in which he left her business.
“Officer Harrison, after a short investigation, was able to locate the suspect, who was later identified by Peele as the male subject that indecently exposed himself in her hair salon,” he said.
Eduardo was arrested Thursday and was booked into the Surry County Jail on indecent exposure charges under a $500 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Surry County General District Court on Sept. 24.
