The Surry County Sheriff’s Office and the N.C. Center for Missing Persons is seeking your help in locating an elderly man whom they believe may be missing.

Grover Cleveland Davis, 76, has been missing since shortly after 1:30 p.m., Thursday. He was last seen at 463 White Pines Country Club Road in Mount Airy and is believed to be wearing a blue plaid shirt, blue work pants, black boots and a white jacket.

His last known location was traveling south on U.S. 52 in a gold-colored 1994 Nissan Pathfinder, according to Detective S.G. Hudson.

“His family told us he said he was going to check on some things for a sawmill, and they believe that since he spent a lot of time in Virginia, that’s where they believe he may be heading, but he has a lot of medical problems,” Hudson said.

County residents are asked to be on the lookout for Davis, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or another cognitive impairment.

Anyone with information about Davis should call Hudson at the Surry County Sheriff’s Office at 336-374-3000.
