The Ashe County High School Husky Vanguard Marching Band came home with two trophies Saturday from the Eighth Annual Viking Classic Tournament of Bands held at Avery County High School.

Completing in a modified Class A Division, the Huskies took second place for drumline and second place for colorguard. As a whole, the band received a rating of “Excellent”.

The Husky Vanguard Marching Band drumline includes: Dillon Flanagan, Josh Reavis, Nathan Trent, Emily MacDonald, Billy Carpenter, Mickey Lewis and Raven Poplin.

The Colorguard includes: Katelyn Brabson, Brittany Barr, Ninfa Nava, Cassie Lyalls, Kenzie Bare, Kiera Young, Ashley Nava, Brittany Stuart and Cami Pruitt.

The Husky Vanguard performs at all ACHS home football games. They will have an exhibition performance as part of the Fifteenth Annual Festival of Bands at ACHS 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

The Huskies' next competition will be in Bristol, Va., at John S. Battle High School on October 12.
