Westfield Baptist takes part in ‘Bless Our Schools’ prayer walk
by By Wendy Wood
Walkers gather at Westfield Baptist Church Sunday afternoon before dispersing to pray at area schools. Those assembled broke into groups of no more than four persons, with each group then traveling to a school of their choice. “Some chose to pray at their home school,” said Suzette Jessup of the organizing WBC Worship Committee. “Others get together and pray about it before deciding where they’ll end up. But everyone is here to humbly and quietly pray God’s blessings on our schools.” The gathering was part of the fourth annual “Bless Our Schools” Sunday, with churches from around the world expected to take part. The effort is organized by the group, “Moms in Prayer International.” The group was founded in 1984 and, according to information provided, has one goal, “to gather women together to pray scripturally and specifically for children and schools.” This was the first year in which Westfield Baptist has participated.
