Participants in the Surry County Pilots Association Fly-In, Cruise-In Saturday could stare down the nose cone of this aircraft. Pictured is a Swiss Socata A TBM. It is considered by many pilots as the fastest single engine plan on the market today.


This was one of more than 20 planes on display at the Mount Airy/Surry County Airport Saturday during the Surry County Pilots Association Fly-In Cruise-In. More than a dozen cars were also on display in addition to refreshments and a best landing contest slated for 5 p.m. Pictured is a Sea Ray amphibious airplane. The landing gear folds up to the sides to allow for water landings.


King resident Davids Creed had this 1966 Chevrolet pickup on display during the Surry County Pilots Association Fly-In Cruise-In Saturday. Creed said he purchased the truck for his wife, Terri, and has kept it pretty much as it was when the two got it. The truck’s theme is “Hillbilly Hot Rod.”
