Grace Ayers and William Worrell to wed

Shannon and Leesa Ayers of Cana, Virginia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Elizabeth Ayers, of Cana, to William Jacob “Jake” Worrell, of Woodlawn.


The bride-elect’s grandparents are Jim and Nell Ayers, of Cana, and Irene Moxley and the late Billy Moxley, of Cana.


The bride-elect graduated from Carroll County High School in 2009 and plans to attend Forsyth Tech in the spring.


She works at the RidgeCrest Retirement Community.


The groom-elect’s parents are Kelly Worrell, of Woodlawn, Virginia, and Craig and Dawn Worrell, of Hillsville, Virginia. His grandparents are Rachel Worrell and the late Bill Worrell, of Hillsville, and Jay and Linda Montgomery, of Hillsville.


The groom-elect graduated from Carroll County High School in 2010 and Radford University in 2013 with a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice. He plans on graduating from the New River Criminal Justice Training Academy on June 25.


He is a deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.


The couple got engaged at 5 p.m. on May 27, 2014, at Fisher’s Peak.


They plan to marry on Aug. 23, 2014, in the Hillsville, Virginia, backyard of the groom’s father.
