Omega Construction of Pilot Mountain was recently awarded the 2015 Excellence in Construction Eagle Award for the local company’s work on Caesarstone Technologies USA Manufacturing Facility in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
The Excellence in Construction Awards are presented by the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABC) to showcase quality construction performed by ABC members based on exceptional innovation and design, technical ability, safety, project management, and quality of construction. The Eagle award recognizes the first place general contractor and sub-contractor/specialty contractor winner in each category. Omega was recognized in the industrial $25-50 million category
The Caesarstone Technologies USA project was a unique project for Omega.
“This design/build project involved a complex manufacturing process, an international client with no U. S construction or manufacturing experience, equipment suppliers from different countries, a challenging site and an aggressive schedule to meet the customer product demand,” according to information released by Omega officials.
“Omega along with its design and construction team met all project challenges and completed the project on time and within budget. The project had significant importance for economic development in creating 180 manufacturing jobs in the United States.”
Caesarstone is a manufacturer of quartz surfaces with its headquarters and manufacturing facilities located in Israel. The Caesarstone project was 284,150 square feet in size, which included 70,000 square feet of warehouse and 15,000 square feet of office space. Sitework for the project commenced in November 2013 and the project was completed in May 2015.
Omega’s involvement began during the site selection process and included assistance with the site acquisition negotiations, civil and building design, site work, building construction, utility systems installation, process equipment foundation construction, and technical procurement assistance.
