Community yard sale a success

A parking lot on Nations Street beside The Mount Airy News is a beehive of activity Saturday as nearly 30 exhibitors participate in a community yard sale. For a small fee, vendors and others could put out their offerings, which attracted a steady stream of customers during the morning and early afternoon hours. Proceeds from the event will support the Newpapers in Education (NIE) program serving local schools.
