Surry County Sheriff Reports


DOBSON — The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has released the following arrest reports:

• William Dale Hall, 33, of Holland Drive, Cana, Virginia, was served an order for arrest Sept. 5 at the county detention center for failure to appear in court July 27. He was given a $50,000 secured bond and a Sept. 21 court date.

Charges he faces include possession of meth, possession of dynamite, possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule IV drug. He also faces several driving-related charges including driving while license revoked (not impaired), fictitious/revoke driver’s license, revoked/suspended license plate, no car insurance and no registration.

• George Douglas Wright, 40, of North Main Street, Dobson, was served an order for arrest Aug. 31 for failure to appear in court Aug. 16. He paid a $300 cash bond and has an Oct. 11 court date for charges of driving while license revoked (not impaired) and speeding.

Wright also had a court date Thursday for multiple charges including driving while license revoked (not impaired), no vehicle inspection, expired registration and speeding.

He also has court dates on Oct. 6, Nov. 17 and Nov. 22 for additional charges of driving while license revoked.

• Regina Young Copeland, 57, of Adams Ridge Road, State Road, was served a warrant Aug. 31 on a charge of assaulting a handicapped person, dated July 5 for the city of Elkin. She was given a $5,000 unsecured bond and an Oct. 10 court date.

• Randi Lynn Snow, 29, of Calloway Road, Lowgap, was served an order for arrest Aug. 31 for failure to appear in court April 28 to appear as a witness. She was given a $300 secured bond and a court date the next day.

• Shamekia Simpson, 29, of Dorothy Lane, Mount Airy, was served an order for arrest Aug. 31 in Dobson for nonsupport of a child in Lincoln County, dated October 2014. She was given a $500 cash bond and a court date the next day in Lincolnton.

• Dustin Zachary Hull, 28, of Carolina Court, was served an order for arrest Sept. 1 for two counts of failure to appear in court. The original charges were larceny (dated June 2) and possession of a schedule II drug (dated June 28). He was given a $5,000 secured bond and a Sept. 18 court date.

• Ronnie Lee Douglas, 53, of East Pine Street, was served an order for arrest Sept. 1 for failure to appear in court September 2015 in Alleghany County. He was given a $1,000 unsecured bond and a Sept. 26 court date in Sparta.

The charges include driving while license revoked (not impaired), no car inspection, no car insurance, fictitious title/registration card, and no registration.

• Manuel Miguel Orozco, 24, of Meadow Brook Road, Cana, Virginia, was served an order for arrest Sept. 1 at the corner of West Pine Street and South Street in Mount Airy. The order was for failure to appear in court Aug. 14. He was given a $7,500 secured bond and a court date later that day.

While in custody, authorities found that Orozco also had just missed another court date the week before and was served a second order for arrest for failure to appear on a charge of second-degree trespassing. This added another $500 secured bond and a Sept. 7 court date.

He also has a Sept. 18 court date for charges of misdemeanor larceny and probation violations.

He has an Oct. 4 court date for larceny. He has an Oct. 24 date for breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, felony larceny, two counts of possession of stolen goods, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of injury to personal property, and obtaining property by false pretense.
