Surry County Sheriff Reports


DOBSON — The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has released the following arrest reports:

• Santana Yvonne Hiatt, 31, Orchard View Drive, Mount Airy, was served a warrant Wednesday for failure to appear in court that day on numerous charges related to a drug bust by the Surry County Sheriff’s Office earlier this year.

She was given a $15,000 secured bond and an Aug. 27 court date.

She also faces separate charges of second-degree trespassing and breaking and entering on Sept. 13.

• Eric Craig Gardner, 23, of Bees Wax Lane, Mount Airy, was served a warrant Aug. 14 for injury to personal property. The arresting officer said the subject was intoxicated and uncooperative. He was given a $1,000 secured bond and a Sept. 15 court date.

• Marcella Allen Lowry, 41, of Pentacostal Holiness Church Road, was served an order for arrest Aug. 14 for failure to appear in court on a count of larceny, dated Aug. 11 in Forsyth County. She was given a $4,000 secured bond and a Sept. 15 court date in Winston-Salem.

• Thomas Adam Key, 21, of Stephens Street, was served an order for arrest Aug. 15 for failure to appear in court June 26 for a charge of possession of marijuana paraphernalia in Guilford County. He was given a $300 secured bond and an Aug. 29 court date in High Point.

• Caenan Douglas Johnson, 21, of Granite Road, Mount Airy, was served an order for arrest Aug. 16 for failure to appear in court that day for charges of driving while impaired and civil revocation of his driver’s license. He was given a $3,000 bond and an Oct. 2 court date.

• Annette Elizabeth Caponey, 54, of Possum Trot Road, Thurmond, was served a criminal summons Aug. 16 for communicating threats. The complainant is listed as Alice Faye Martin of the same address. She was given a Sept. 15 court date.

• Barbara Ann Crawford, 36, of U.S. 601, Dobson, was served an order for arrest Aug. 16 for failure to appear in court Aug. 9 in Wilkes County on a charge of misdemeanor larceny. She was given a $2,500 unsecured bond and an Oct. 6 court date in North Wilkesboro.

She also faces three court dates in Surry County.

On Sept. 8, the charges are larceny and possession of stolen goods. Oct. 3 will be driving while license revoked (not impaired) and failure to stop for a stop sign/light. Oct. 10 will be possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretenses and buying/selling food stamps.

• Jeffrey Scott Martin, 47, of Possum Trot Road, Thurmond, was served a warrant Aug. 16 for several counts including possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule II drug, maintaining a drug vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to pay fines. The warrants were dated June 8. He was given a $10,500 secured bond and a $516.14 cash bond. He was given an Aug. 17 court date.

According to court calendars, he also has a Sept. 21 date in Mecklenburg County for hit-and-run leaving the scene of property damage.

• Michael Travis Upchurch, 33, of Pilot Mountain, was served an order for arrest Aug. 16 for failure to appear in court Aug. 8. He was given a $2,000 secured bond and a Sept. 13 court date. He faces charges of driving while impaired, revocation of his license and probation violation as well as a vehicle seizure hearing.

• Janet Cockerham Justice, 46, of Mount Hermon Church Road, Elkin, was served a warrant Aug. 17 for three charges: second-degree trespassing, simple assault and communicating threats. The complainant is listed as India Sha Smith of Boonville. Justice was given a $1,000 unsecured bond and a Sept. 12 court date.
