PILOT MOUNTAIN — Pilot Mountain Police are still on the look-out for the two men responsible for an armed robbery at a convenience store last week.

On Tuesday, March 28, a black male with a pump shotgun entered the Circle K convenience store located at 805 South Key Street, Pilot Mountain at 12:50 a.m., according to a request for information placed with the North Carolina’s Information Sharing and Analysis Center by Pilot Mountain Police Department.

The suspect proceeded to rob the convenience store and the clerk of personal belongings.

According to Police Chief Darryl Bottoms the suspect demanded the clerk open the safe. The clerk however did not have access to the safe, stated Bottoms. The suspect then proceeded to take the money from the cash register drawer.

Upon seeing the clerk’s purse on the counter the perpetrator demanded the clerk give it to him as well, according to Bottoms.

No other persons were in the store at the time of the robbery and the clerk was not injured.

The suspect was described as being in his twenties, slim build, approximately between 6’0” to 6’2” tall.

The suspect was last seen leaving the store on foot, running toward US Highway 52 Southbound, wearing a black hoodie, black pants with a red bandana covering his face.

The suspect stole $179.01 in cash from the store, along with the clerk’s purse. No description of the purse was given.

A possible second suspect and possible suspect vehicle were identified by the Pilot Mountain Police Department, although no description of the individual was given. The vehicle was described as a red sedan.

“We believe this person came into the gas station and scoped the place out,” said Bottoms.

Anyone with any information on this incident or are able to identify either of the two individual’s, contact the Pilot Mountain Police Department at (336) 368-4725.
