ABWA announce scholarship winners

The Granite City Chapter of American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) recently announced their winners of its 2015-2016 scholarships.

The Granity City Chapter of ABWA gives away four scholarships each year to graduating high school student who plans to attend Surry Community College.

Recipients of the $1,500 scholarships to Surry Community College are Olivia Brinkley and Brianna Tomchick, Mount Airy High School; Giselle Chavez, East Surry High School; and Jennifer Loa, Surry Central High School.

Olivia is the daughter of Frank and Tammie Brinkley. She plans to study either business or occupational therapy.

Brianna is the daughter of Damon and Sharon Tomchick and will study nursing at SCC.

Giselle is the daughter of Jose and Yadira Chavez. She plans to study business and accounting.

Jennifer is the daughter of Miguel and Mireya Loa. She plans to major in accounting.
