Charlotte Cassell, FNP, has joined Northern Family Medicine, the practice recently announced.
Cassell joins Dr. Nelson Gardner and Dr. Challie Minton, along with certified physician assistants Michael Cartledge, Laura Hedlund, Anthony Hutton and Nicole Coalson, at the practice, which was known as Northwest Medical Partners, prior to being acquired by Northern Hospital of Surry County last year.
Cassell joined Northern Hospital in May 2014 as the hospital’s first nurse practitioner to provide care in the occupational health department. She is a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, received her Family Nurse Practitioner licensure from the University of Chapel Hill, a bachelors of nursing from Winston-Salem State University and masters of science in nursing from University of Phoenix. She is completing her student doctorate program from University of Phoenix.
Prior to joining Northern Hospital, Cassell practiced with Majure Skin Care: Carolina Medical Urgent and Family Practice and Blue Ridge Cardiology and Internal Medicine both in Mount Airy. Cassell operated Health Plus by Nurse Practitioners from 1992-2011.
Northern Family Medicine is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The facility offers “a full-service, one-stop-shop concept, including laboratory, x-ray, and retail pharmacy,” the company said in a written statement.
“Northern Family Medicine is the only medical practice in town where you can see a provider, have blood drawn and an x-ray all in one visit. Patients can then stop by the onsite retail pharmacy, Northern Pharmacy, to have their prescription filled before heading home and it’s all under one roof,” said Brian Beasley, vice president of Clinic Operations for Northern Medical Group.
Northern Family Medicine and Northern Pharmacy are located at 280 North Pointe Boulevard, just off of Highway 52 in Mount Airy. Call 336-786-4133 or visit online at www.northernhospital.com for more information.
