Veterans can get a free flu shot on Tuesday.

Representatives from the W.H. “Bill” Hefner Salisbury Veteran Affairs Medical Center will be at the county veteran services office to give flu shots.

Shots are free for any veteran who is already enrolled in the VA medical system. Additionally, any veteran who is not enrolled in the VA medical system can bring a copy of his or her DD form 214 and photo identification to receive the immunization.

VA personnel will be on hand to aid veterans in filling out an application for VA healthcare services and provide information about other VA benefits.

The flu shots will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, and the county veteran services offices are located at the human services building at 1218 State Street in Mount Airy.

Those in need of more information can call the Salisbury VA at 1-800-469-8262, ext. 4958/4960/4937/4315.
