We greet you in the name of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I consider it an honor and a privilege to share with you the good news about our savior. In fact I know he’s my savior and I pray that you feel the same.
Once again we are celebrating black history month but before I continue I would like to acknowledge and celebrate the anniversary of WPAQ radio. I believe this is the beginning of 69 years of being on the air. Congratulations also go out to the late Ralph Epperson for his much success in the business. I’m truly very happy and excited for the WPAQ owner, co-owner and all of the WPAQ staff for all their hard work.
This week I’m going to speak with you concerning equality. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved upon the waters, and god said let there be light and there was light and God saw that the light was good.
God divided the light from darkness. (Genesis 1vs 4) he called the light day and the darkness night. The evening and morning were the first day. (Genesis 1 vs 5) God created all things. Every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind and every winged fowl after his kind and god saw that it was good.(Genesis 1 vs 20-21). God said let us make man in our own image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepiest upon the earth. (Genesis 1 vs 26)
So God created man in his own image, of God created he him, male and female created he them. (Genesis 1 vs 29) In the day that God made him, male and female created them; and blessed them and called their name Adam in the day when they were created. (Genesis 5 vs 1-2) God created Adam, and he said it is not good for man to be alone so he created Eve. God took the rib from Adam and created Eve so from my understanding and studying the word that would make them equal. The rib put into Eve from Adam according to the Bible made them equal both side by side, neither in front of Adam nor behind, but side by side together as one.
The Pharisees came to Jesus tempting him and saying unto him, is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? Jesus answered and said unto them have ye not read that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, (Matthew 19 vs 3-4). Thou are worthy O’ lord to receive glory and honor and power for thou have created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Rev: 4 vs 11).
Gods’ creation was and is his desire that we love one another as he loves us, and that we are all equal in his eyes. Like the legendary Rosa Parks who refused to give up her seat and sit at the back of the bus, as well as taking a drink of water from a fountain labeled whites only. The first black national congresswoman Shirley Chisolm wanting equality. And let us not forget one of our very own black scientists, the late great George Washington Carver.
These are just some of the phenomenal black VIP’s that stood not only for justice, but for equality. Although we’re not there yet with being treated equally we’re still making great strides, if we keep looking with that spiritual eye. With that being said keep your heart in tune with God and you’ll never miss a beat, for this is not only Black History month it’s also Heart Healthy month. May god bless you and keep you until the next column.
