Exactly six years after beginning their relationship, Courtney Dawn Utt and Seth Woodson Jackson were united in marriage on July 1, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mount Airy. Rev. Mitch Nichols of Greensboro officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Misty Utt of Mount Airy. She is the granddaughter of Linda Dean and Sandy Lovill and Glenn Utt, the late Shirley Utt, and Eva Utt.

She graduated from North Surry High School in 2015, Surry Community College in 2017 and is currently a senior through Lees–McRae College’s Elementary Education Program.

The groom is the son of Kym and Cindy Jackson of Cana, VA. He is the grandson of Joy Jackson and the late Woodrow Jackson and the late Grover and Martha Jarrell.

He graduated from Mount Airy High School in 2012 and Surry Community college in 2014. He is employed by Surry Community College.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Ricky Utt.

She wore a ruffed ballgown with lace embroidery topped with a sweetheart neckline and a long traditional two-sided veil with jeweled accents and a diamond tiara.

The bride carried a bouquet of hot pink roses.

The maid of honor was Taylor Shelton of Mount Airy.

Bridesmaids were Haley Keck of Mount Airy, Monica Butler of Winston-Salem, Erica Carlisle of Mount Airy, Addison Nichols of Greensboro and Destinee Butler of Winston-Salem.

The flower girls were Marley Keck and Lileah Butler, both of Winston-Salem.

James Watson of Mount Airy served as best man. Groomsmen were Kelsey Carlisle of Mount Airy, Will Vogler of Boone, Colin Johnson of Mount Airy and Yancey Simmons of Mount Airy.

The ring bearer was Riley Keck of Winston-Salem.

The wedding was directed by Candy Jones, Emily Jones and Sherri Keck.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Richard Jarrell of Charlotte.

Immediately following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church, Mount Airy.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s family, was held in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church, Mount Airy.

Departing from Charlotte International Airport immediately after the wedding, the couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The couple will reside in Mount Airy.
