Benefits and Fundraisers
n Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Airy will have a youth yard and bake sale on July 10 in the fellowship hall, 314 S. Franklin Road. All proceeds will go to help the youth mission trip to Puerto Rico.
n Mallalieu-Jones United Methodist Church, 231 N. South St., Mount Airy, will be holding a fish-fry fundraiser. The cost is $4 for a fish sandwich and a drink. This fundraiser will be held every Friday.
Special Services
n Copeland Baptist Church will have homecoming July 11 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Chilton as speaker. A meal will be served after the service. There will be a singing at 1:30 p.m. by New Vision. For more information, call 786-7883.
n The Women’s Auxillary of Payne’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate Women’s Day on July 11 at 4 p.m. Guest speaker will be co-paster Ernestine Miller of Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.
Vacation Bible School
n Salem Fork Baptist Church will have registration for Vacation Bible School at the Dobson pool on July 11 at 5:30 p.m. Bible School will be held July 12-16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with meal provided nightly.
n Highland Park Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School July 18-22 from 6 to 8 p.m. for preschool and youth and 7 to 8 p.m. for adults. Commencement will be July 23 at 6 p.m. with a hot dog supper to follow.
n Hunters Chapel Assembly Church is having a one day Vacation Bible School on July 31 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be a cookout and special singing by the String of Praise to follow. For more information, call Pastor Joseph M. Easter at (276) 251-7273.
Special Music
n The Double Over Time Bluegrass Gospel Singers will be singing at Cana, Va., Baptist Church on July 11 at the 11 a.m. service. The Rev. Russell Vass invites everyone to attend.
n The Whisnants will be performing at Friendly Chapel Church in Pilot Mountain on July 24 at 6 p.m. Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken.

n Payne’s Chapel Baptist Church will have Daughter of the Kings present their 7th Annual Women’s Conference on July 17. Registration will start at 9:30 a.m. with a workshop to begin at 10 a.m. The workshop facilitator is Chris Cropps of Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem. A luncheon will follow the workshop.
Miscellaneous
n King’s Kids will have fun, learning Scripture and crafts every Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church. There will be classes for all ages, children through adults. For more information, call the church at 374-3250.
n Reformers Unanimous Addiction Recovery program will begin weekly sessions at Temple Baptist Church, 3615 Rockford St., Mount Airy. Anyone with an addiction, stubborn habit or hangup is encouraged to attend. Childcare is provided and refreshments will be served. n The First Baptist Church Feeding Friends Soup Kitchen provides a free hot meal to families and friends in need every Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The church is between Elm and Galloway streets at 714 N. Main St. Parking is available behind First Baptist off Arch Street. The feeding friends dinner is served in the fellowship hall in the building closest to downtown, with signs available to guide visitors.
n A free “soup kitchen” is available on the last Thursday of each month in the Piney Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come as they are with no strings attached. The church is at 278 Piney Grove Road, which can be reached at 356-4196.
n Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 p.m. radio station 8.80 a.m. will have radio ministry with Pastor Danny Poindexter from the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
