Claude William Flippin, age 66, of Pilot Mountain, NC, passed away July 8, 2014. He was born in Surry County on December 20, 1947, to the late Samuel “Sam” Flippin and Pheba Jessup Flippin. Claude is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Wilma (Lester) Simmons, Dolly Williams, Mary Jane (Arnold) Griffith, and Shirley Flippin; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Flippin; three nieces; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bryant Flippin; his parents; a sister, Peggy Jo Flippin; three brothers, Clay Flippin, Samuel Flippin, and J.D. Flippin; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Williams. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barry Clement officiating. Interment will follow at Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
