Larry and Eleanor Meredith celebrate 55th anniversary

Larry and Eleanor Meredith celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 4, 2014.

The former Eleanor Jones and Larry Meredith were married on April 4, 1959, at the former Lovill’s Creek Baptist Church in Mount Airy.

Eleanor and Larry met while she attended Franklin School and he attended Mount Airy High. As a retired soldier of the U.S. Air Force, Larry served our country for more than 27 years, while taking Eleanor and their two children, Karen Meredith Hanna and Sheldon Meredith, around the world. He also retired from Northrop Grumman as an engineer. Eleanor worked in several career fields over the years, lastly retiring as a U.S. civil servant in San Antonio, Texas. Their travels took them as far away as Germany, Great Britain, and many of the U.S. states.

The Meredith’s now reside in Grayson, Ga., and have in addition, six grandchildren, of Georgia, Missouri, and Texas, a step-granddaughter of Georgia, and a great-grandson of Missouri.

Congratulations, Mom and Dad, and thank you for a lifetime of fond memories, and your wisdom, strength and determination. Happy 55th.
