In a scramble befitting its name, kids in a “Running Rabbits” segment of Mount Airy’s first Easter egg hunt seek a coveted golden egg and others Saturday on a softball field at Westwood Park. The event drew a large crowd to the facility, with parking spaces scarce. Three separate hunts for kids in different age groups were involved, and those ages 4-6 competed in the “Running Rabbits” category.

The Easter Bunny, a special guest Saturday, proves to be a hit with kids.

Children take off in search of eggs hidden around the field during Saturday’s hunt that drew hundreds to Westwood Park in Mount Airy.

A throng of kids, and adults, awaits the signal to start the hunt.
