Some lucky residents had the opportunity to toss their boss into the frigid Fisher River Saturday, as the second annual Polar Plunge was held. The event, held on a balmy 38-degree day that featured snow flurries and water temps at a tepid 39 degrees, benefited the Special Olympics and the Surry-Yadkin Senior Games. More than 40 hearty souls participated in this year’s event. Pictured above, Surry County Parks and Recreation staff tosses Director Daniel White into the river.
