HOUSTON, TEXAS — James Christopher “Chris” Kline, 53, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Chris fought a hard and courageous battle against leukemia for 10 months. He was born in Spangler, PA, on March 9, 1960 to the late Francis James Kline and Joann Ethel Baldwin Kline. Chris was an Environmental Remediation Construction Manager on the Construction Services team at Haley & Aldridge headquartered in Burlington, MA. During his 30 year career he was also employed by RMT, Four Seasons, and Laidlaw. His coworkers described him as a dependable and trustworthy natural leader. He was routinely awarded annual excellence awards for his loyal service, and in addition, his customers frequently sent highly complementary letters of commendation. He was a true professional and enjoyed being fully engaged in his work. Away from work, Chris loved watching movies with family and friends. On sunny days he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on scenic trips and in charity events. He is survived by a son, Evan Kline of Winston-Salem and two brothers, Pat Kline of California and Michael Darnel of Arizona. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Lisa Kline. Memorial service will be on Friday, January 3 at the Innovate Building, 148 River Street, Greenville, SC at 2 pm with Mark Bailey officiating. His family will receive friends in his Simpsonville home following the memorial service.
