Martha and Ted Johnson of Pilot Mountain recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married at Union Hill Friends Church in Mount Airy on Oct. 26, 1963.

A reception was held at the Union Hill Friends Church fellowship hall on Oct. 26, 2013. Approximately 125 friends and family were in attendance.

The event was hosted by their family and special friends, Vena Woodring, Judy Clifton, Joy Tickle, Martha Haynes, and Shyrell Boyette.

The couple has one daughter, Sherrie Johnson, and one son, David Johnson and wife, Donna.

They have three grandsons, Ryan, Austin and Staymon Johnson.

The Johnsons appreciate everything everyone did to make this a special day for them.

Arrangements were made to have the music that was played at their wedding played during the reception: “I Love You Truly” and “Oh Perfect Love.”

Martha Johnson was presented a Bride’s Bible by the special friends who hosted.

They thought the food was excellent.

The couple felt this event would always be a special memory.
