The West Stokes Wildcats dominated for a 44-7 win against Surry Central in a conference game away on Friday.
The Wildcats totaled 486 yards in their last conference season game in an offensive spree by quarterback Alex Manley and a tight offensive line that resulted in 207 passing yards and 279 rushing yards.
Junior Keelan Marshall who moved to fullback got his first touchdown of the season.
Jacob Bratcher led in tackles with 12 and Rashad Witherspoon led in touchdowns with two.
Head Coach Jimmy Upchurch said they met the goal to come in and play good football at the end of the season. He said the good performance upfront on both sides of the ball will hopefully give momentum coming into the Friday’s state playoff game against East Davidson.
Upchurch said solid defensive play and controlling the line of scrimmage all season contributed to the team’s success.
