Myrtle Gertrude Jarrell Foster, 88, of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013. She was born on November 1, 1924, to the late James Samuel Jarrell and Lettie Marie Jarrell. Myrtle made hand made quilts and pillow cases that have been sold worldwide. She was very proud of her handiwork. Surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters, Frances Beck and husband, Robert, Nancy Irene Pruitt and husband, James Dean and Opal Hodges; one son, Ellis Quesenberry and wife Virginia; two sisters, Agnes Tucker and Josephine Combs. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Samuel Jarrell and Lettie Marie Jarrell; a special granddaughter, Nancy Jane King; a grandson, Bobby Ray Sechrist; two brothers, Brady W. Jarrell and Willie J. Jarrell. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 2:00PM. at Cox Needham Funeral Home with Donald Bryant. Interment will follow at Slate Mountain Baptist Church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 PM. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
