The East Wilkes tennis team aced North Surry, winning all nine matches in Monday’s away game.
Greyhound’s coach Maggie McKee said they did better this time playing against North Surry than the last time the two squads met. Especially in doubles, said Mckee.
Coach McKee said East Wilkes is a tough team and playing against them prepared the Hounds for two home conference games this week.
Today the Greyhounds will meet Forbush, whom they beat in the first meeting. On Thursday, they will play West Stokes, whom they beat 8-1 in the match-up.
McKee said playing tougher teams has made the Hounds better and each game they improve.
The closest match on Monday against East Wilkes was the doubles game of Sarah Glasco and Taylor Tickle versus Kennedy Lester and Kayla Pardue. East Wilkes pulled it out 9-7.
“Our goal is to get better every time we are on the court,” said McKee.
