Michele Christine Watson and Phillip David Riekehof exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony at 6 p.m. June 22 at Round Peak Vineyards in Mount Airy. The entire wedding party arrived at the gazebo for the wedding ceremony via a horse and carriage. Minister Dwayne Chandler officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mike and Mary Watson of Mount Airy and granddaughter of Lou Sizemore and the late Harry Watson of Mount Airy, the late Christa Mercado of Fort Bragg, and the late Howard Frazier of Mount Airy. She graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing from Surry Community College in May 2010, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Winston-Salem State University in May 2012. She is employed at Northern Hospital of Surry County.

The groom is the son of Paul and Vickie Riekehof of Mount Airy and grandson of Leon and Eileen Newman of Mount Airy, and Peggy Riekehof and the late Paul Riekehof Sr. of Colonia, N.J. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lees-McRae College in May 2012. He is employed at Flat Rock Elementary School.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a soft-white strapless gown with a sweep train. The gown went well with the rustic theme of the wedding with its all over lace detail and peacock ribbon and broach at the waist.

Misty Watson Leftwich, the bride’s sister, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Lee Ann Snyder of Kernersville, the groom’s sister; Katie Simmons; Dove Trenter; Kerri Sexton; and Ashley Vipperman.

The flower girl was Ella Simmons, daughter of Katie Simmons. The ring bearer was Kamryn Leftwich, nephew of the bride.

The best man was Paul Riekehof, the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Andrew Snyder of Kernersville, the groom’s brother-in-law; Eric Barnett; Cole Glasco; Alex East; and Andrew Dearmin.

The wedding took place outside of the winery between the endless rows of vines at a large gazebo. Close friends and family were able to view the breath-taking Blue Ridge Mountains as they watched the sun go down and danced the night away.

Candi Gunter was the wedding director.

A reception was hosted after the ceremony at Round Peak Vineyards, with catering provided by Mary Planer and This & That Catering.

The music was organized by the bride’s brother-in-law, Jeff Leftwich.

A bridal luncheon was hosted by the bride’s mother and sister at Sander’s Ridge Winery in Boonville. The bridal couple was honored at several events prior to the wedding.

Following a wedding trip to Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica, the couple will reside in Mount Airy.
