MILLERS CREEK — The Surry Central football team clinched its second win in a row on the road against West Wilkes, and Raymond Salazar led the drive, scoring all three touchdowns for the Golden Eagles.
The final score was Golden Eagles 20-7, and their record moves to 2-1.
In the second quarter, Central scored its first rushing touchdown and made good on the extra point. With just under a minute, Wilkes Central scored on a 40-yard pass.
The teams went into the half tied at 7-7.
With around two minutes to go in the third quarter, another rushing touchdown and extra point by Central put the score Golden Eagles 14-7.
Finally, the Eagles closed the deal with the last Salazar touchdown and a missed extra point that ended the game Central 20-7.
The coaches could not be reached for comment.
Surry Central will play Elkin on Sept. 13 at home.
