A Mount Airy man was arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday after city police executed a search warrant at his home on West Poplar Street.
The search warrant was the result of an investigation by the Mount Airy Police Department’s narcotics detectives. Detectives had received citizen complaints regarding marijuana being sold at the location where the warrant was executed.
As a result of the investigation, Eric Renardo Simmons, 23, of 151 W. Poplar St., was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana; sale or delivery of marijuana; and maintaining a drug dwelling.
Simmons was taken to the Surry County Detention Center and held under a $5,000 secured bond.
